With Sarah Goodwoman's kind permission, here is a continuation of her story WHAT ABOUT THE CHILDREN (posted here on 8-24-17), an excellent little slice-of-life tale about the everyday hassles of trans people. WHAT ABOUT BOB starts a few seconds after WHAT ABOUT THE CHILDREN ends and deals with a situation these anti-trans Bathroom Warriors never seem to consider when they're ranting about males invading the sanctity of the women's room. You won't be totally lost reading this if you don't read Sarah's story first but they're both quite short- about 1000 words apiece.

What happens when a transgender boy grows up in a world where there ARE no males? On an island called "Paradise" lived an unhappy child who had always felt terribly different, but never even knew why... Until a bloody civil war brought a group of heroes to Themyscira, and the child finally learned what this lifelong sense of wrongness had really meant, and what needed to be done about it. From girl to boy, from Amazon to American, from Themyscira to Gotham City... Kip Trevor's life has been one incredible journey! (It's a sort of Wonder Woman/Justice League fanfiction)

When I came to I was on the patio deck of the Eureka, with Valerie and her parent gathered around me. Thinking they were rescuing me from drowning they had dragged me on board their yacht, where they tried to remove my "fake" tail and discovered the truth about me. So much for my people's Prime Directive of never letting yourself be seen by humans... I was a bad, bad mermaid! //////// But this wasn't quite the disaster as it could have been. Although they'd found out about me, any trouble this family might bring down on my species was a long ways off. They weren't exactly from around here. It seems that pirates aren't the only ones who can make a wrong turn in the Bermuda Triangle...

MY WEEK AS A MERMAID CONTINUES: My young human friend and I surfaced and sat on a rock, where we could talk without having to use her underwater message pad. I was hoping she might start making sense now, but Valerie's strange stories were growing progressively stranger... Reagan and Kennedy on Mount Rushmore... A transsexual woman giving birth... Peace in Iraq but a war in Antarctica... I might have decided she just had a wild imagination, except she also had all this impossible hardware---like the artificial gill she'd been breathing underwater with---which had me wondering if I'd somehow wandered into an alternate universe. Given the kind of week I'd been having this didn't seem like such a crazy notion, but these mysteries had a different explanation that I would eventually discover. It was just a matter of TIME...

The first thing every mermaid learns is that if you see a human you're supposed to swim away as fast as you can. But the girl in the pink wetsuit was right here in front of me, and there was no way she would think she'd been mistaken about seeing me. My best recourse seemed to be to convince her not to tell anyone about meeting me, and as we talked (or rather I talked, while she typed her words on her neat little electronic message pad) this seemed to be working. But there were things Valerie was telling me here that made absolutely no sense. Either this girl was crazy or the whole universe was. Given the kind of week I'd had, my money was on it being the universe that had gone.... OFF THE DEEP END

Today my sister decided to take me landlubbing, which the mermaid equivalent of the human sport of snorkeling- a low tech way to see all the pretty sights of a world that isn't your own. Except that instead of gliding weightlessly along through the water, our version has the tortoiselike pace of crawling with just your hands, and in some places you're basically rock climbing. It isn't easy. But the little island Anemone had brought me to was so breathtakingly gorgeous it made it all worth it. It had everything you'd hope to find on a on a tropical isle- from coconut palms to waterfalls. And being uninhabited we could explore it all without running into any humans... ////// Or so we thought. Until that big white boat pulled into our perfect island's perfect bay, and things got super intense as our pleasant outing turned into a desperate game of hide and seek!

Our dinner conversation had degenerated into a shouting match between my mermaid sister and our mom, Anemone yelling, "How can you keep harping about how horrible land people are when you've never even MET one?!" //// "I know all I need to about them," said the Mermaid Queen. /// "You might think you do, but Daddy liked humans. And he had experiences with them, not just a bunch of ignorant bigotry!" /// "I've had dealings with humans before." //// "When? When was this?! I've heard all your stories and you never mentioned-" //// "I prefer not to discuss it." //// "Now there's a surprise!! 'Ewww, it's unpleasant! Let's not discuss it!'" mocked Anee. She kept goading Mom, ignoring all Mom's warnings to drop the subject and stopping just short of calling her a damn liar: "No Mom, I want to hear this! Tell us about your encounters with the terrible evil humans-" //// "I FELL IN LOVE WITH ONE!!!" roared the Queen, pounding her fist on the table. She froze there, stunned, mouth open; like she'd just blurted out a secret she'd intended to take to the grave with her. Then she sighed, composed herself, and told us her story...

My sister and I had about as much fun as two mermaids can have that week. ///// On Monday she took me on a tour of the village up the hill from our castle, where everyone was curious to get a look at me. The whole ocean knew about Queen Atlantea's magically created second daughter by now; who as rumor had it was: "Beautiful, but dumb as a sea cow!" But nobody was mean to their idiot princess. They all tried to look out for me, to make sure I wouldn't go kissing an electric eel or something. ///// As we sat at a table in Shellcastle's town square an adorable little girl came swimming up to us with a sea lily in her hand. The fry was confused that there seemed to be two Princess Anemones until I pointed; and she handed my twin the flower-animal before grabbing her in a hug. ///// And now the tiny mermaid wanted to hug me too. If this was celebrity I could get used to it...

This is an semi-unauthorized sequel to "CLOTHES MAKE THE ?"; a recent story by DorothyColleen that offers a unique take on all this Forced Fem stuff. "CLOTHES" is a short gem of a tale that wouldn't take you long at all to read, and reading it first (it's here at fictionmania) will help my story here make more sense... Taking the protagonist to a "Feminizers Anonymous" meeting probably wasn't what my friend had in mind when she wrote the last line of her story, but it's what popped into my mind. I'm hoping Dorothy will write the real sequel to "CLOTHES MAKE THE ?" someday...... Until then there's this literary sack of boogers.

Suzie's adventures as a mermaid princess continue. This chapter is called "ANEMONE AND ENOMEA PART ONE, Princess: First Day on the Job", which is a pretty good synopsis all by itself. This post begins with a segment that should have gone at the end of Chapter 2, but it works okay here. Enjoy, if you like silly G-rated adventure fantasy. All comments will be greatly appreciated.

MOVIE REVIEW: The Fuller Breast Man is an odd film for several reasons, but perhaps the oddest things about this old black and white comedy is that it was released at all, especially in 1957 when it was fairly taboo to even say the word "breast" in movies. It stars Bob Hope (and then Eve Arden) as Chester Buxley, a door to door salesman with a suitcase full of products from the Fuller Breast Corporation, which sells a miraculous bustline enhancement product that makes the bosom of whoever drinks it swell almost instantly...

"Good. You're awake," said a girl's voice. ////// "Whahhh?!" I burbled groggily at the pretty fish girl I saw hovering in front of me. She looked to be about sixteen and had to be the cutest girl I'd ever seen. Definitely the cutest mermaid. ////// I was in a beach chair in the seashell castle's courtyard. My legs felt weird and fat and there was something sitting on my chest. She said, "Please don't panic, but in order to save your life we had to-" ////// I looked down and saw what was on my chest. It WAS my chest! Beneath these two rather impressive breasts my waist narrowed and then flared out into girlish hips that were covered in beautiful jade green scales, which continued down the long sleek shiny tail I now had for legs. I wagged my new tail back forth experimentally. And this stuff floating around my face wasn't some kind of seaweed but my hair, super long and shimmering like gold. ////// "Oh my God! Oh my God! My name is Susan Donnelly, and this is the story of what happened to me on my summer vacation last year, and it's all true. I mean you can see how I'm different. The doctors couldn't explain how I could disappear for a week and come back turned into a girl but I can, even if it sounds insane to people. "Trauma induced hallucination" is what Dr. Morris called my story... Oh, sure! Like I am so traumatized! This is what I'd always wanted and I couldn't be happier. But people can only believe what they believe, and that isn't me apparently. More stupidity from Laika. This one starts out as a parody of femdom stories then gets into some severely unwholesome body modification with limbs being chopped off and boobs being inflated to the size of beachballs; and finally it mutates into a weird JG Ballard-ish adventure on Garbage Island with some metaphysical gobbletygook tossed in. Recommended if you like Swiss Army Dildos.

It can be emotionally difficult for them to come to accept the new you and it often takes a good deal time, patience and effort on your part until they see that this is who you were always meant to be. But sometimes all the patience and effort in the world aren't enough, and it becomes clear that you have to cut your losses. In this short letter a young FtM named Robert says goodbye to his weirdly manipulative mother.

THE SIMPSONS get the Fictionmania treatment. Moe's Tavern is now a drag bar, Bart and Milhouse are playing dress-up, and everybody seems to be getting gender variant in one way or another. (This episode fits in somewhere around the middle of the show's 26 year run...)

Two astronauts return to Earth after fifty years in space to find a world completely depopulated by a terrible plague. The last survivors of a doomed planet, the two men eke out a grief-stricken, pointless existence, foraging in the ruins of shops and warehouses as they wait to grow old and die. The fact that they are good friends helps a bit, but the crushing sense of isolation and loss is always with them; a deep futility that threatens their very sanity. The physicist of the team fears that the strange dreams he keeps having are a sign he's already cracking up, but perhaps these have something to do with the plague's one other survivor- an old sorceror camping out in a shopping mall 2000 miles away.

IT'S TIME FOR ANIMANIACS! ///// Notorious hatemonger Fred Phelps of that crazy church that pickets funerals gets a visit from those loveable Warner siblings Yakko, Wakko and Dot, who adopt him as their "new special friend". What can I say? Some people just really need to have an anvil dropped on their head... [Even if you've never seen Animaniacs this tale isn't hard to follow. The Warners are cartoon characters, some unspecified species of animal, who act like total crazies and supposedly not even their animators can control. There's the clever sarcastic eldest brother, the goofy one who eats everything in sight, and their little sister who's all girly cuteness- until you piss her off. // And Fred Phelps, well.... suffice it to say he's the perfect villain for this wacky trio.]

Veronica Nelson, a transsexual, was in her third month of her Real Life Test. She was struggling financially, cut off from her family, and someone was leaving disgusting surprises in her jeep. She hadn't expected transitioning to be free of difficulties, but this was the absolute pits. The weird hassles kept mounting until she felt like she was ready to snap! Then one night she had a chance encounter that would help put all her troubles in perspective...

The top brass at Spellcrafters Inc. have it in for the Spells R Us wizard. They've brought in hired muscle from overseas to do their dirty work- a powerful magical mercenary named Necromancer Sato. Can Wizzie survive their deadly scheme? Will our "somewhat ridiculous heroine" Wendy manage to avoid getting caught in the crossfire? Has this most unpleasant pack of evildoers totally picked the wrong wizard to mess with? (This story takes place in a universe that's divided down the middle, in which magic is on the verge of going mainstream.)

After decades of struggle the occupation was over. The invaders from the neighboring star system had packed up and gone home, and all of Bajor was celebrating their hard won freedom. Although to 15 year old Rothko Jor it just seemed as if one type of hegemony had been replaced with another, and that some Bajorans would never be free. But he hadn't taken into account the will of his planet's gods, or that he might encounter a mysterious sacred object known as the Orb of Change... [This story takes place in the STAR TREK: DEEP SPACE 9 universe, right around the time of the show's first episode.]

A darkly farcical tale about growing up transgender, dysfunctional families, small towns, best friends, untrue confessions and good old Catholic guilt. This story takes place 6 months before the events of THE ABATTOIR, which I suggest you read first (there are some revelations that it sort of gets out of the way...) but it's not absolutely necessary to do so in order to get the gist of this one.
